Abstract

The objective of this article is to attempt to identify, measure, and speculate
about agriculture that is changing its techno-economic basis and altering the corresponding
social structure. It is fundamentally about thinking about agriculture that is becoming
industrialized. The idea that we wish to sustain is that the current industrialization of the
Brazilian countryside is a new phenomenon and that industrialized agriculture sets the direction
for the future of all national agriculture. The main hypothesis is that as the phenomena
and particular processes of agricultural industrialization will become general processes.
